A FLOURISHING Beaver Scout troop in Pershore was given an official seal of approval when the mayor and mayoress paid a visit.
The group, which started in October last year, held the event as a thank you to Pershore Town Council for giving them a start-up grant.
Councillor John Grantham and the Mayoress Sheila Grantham presented the new flag to the group, which had been blessed in Pershore Abbey during the St George’s Day parade.
Julie Izod, 1st Pershore Beaver Scout leader, said: “We wanted to thank the council for giving us the money because without them we wouldn’t have been able to get equipment.
“The group is going really well now – we’ve 18 boys and girls. Any extra help is always welcome.”
The group meets on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm at the Scout hut at Pershore College.
