CYCLISTS were forced off the road leaving them with cuts, bruises and broken bones after a 4x4 overtook them.

Police are trying to trace a burgundy-coloured Land Rover which was driven along the B4424 road between Callow End and Upton-upon-Severn at 10.30am on Sunday, May 27.

At the time, a group of 14 cyclists were travelling along the road toward Upton when the Land Rover approached from behind.

According to witnesses, the Land Rover overtook and the cyclists were forced off the road - many coming off their bicycles in the process.

The driver of the Land Rover did not stop but the last three letters of its number plate were AOB or OAB.

The 4x4 did not touch the cyclists but police are still treating it as a collision, because two cyclists were injured as a direct result.

PC Ian Doidge said: "The Land Rover is believed to be a Series Two Discovery and is described as being the ‘old shape'.

"The driver is a white man in his mid to late 40s, with either a closely shaved head or balding.

“There was a woman in the front passenger seat who is described as white with light coloured hair.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the driver from the description given to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would also urge the driver himself to come forward, as well as anyone who witnessed the collision and any vehicles behind the cyclists as they made their way from Powick along the B4424 on Sunday."
