MORE than 60 brides and grooms-to-be attended the I Will wedding show at the Elms Hotel and Spa in Abberley.

The luxurious Queen Anne mansion in its rural surroundings looked beautiful in the sunshine, and visitors were able to have a stroll around its facilities as well as viewing the wide range of wedding products and services on display.

About 25 exhibitors were in residence, showcasing wedding essentials from cakes and flowers to stationery and venue dressing.

Visitors were entered into the I Will prize draw to win a gorgeous wedding gown, and enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine courtesy of Majestic Wines.

Naomi Wheeler, meetings and events manager at the Elms, said: “The day went really well and all the exhibitors and visitors seemed very happy.

“We had lots of new clients looking around the hotel and we took a couple of bookings, so we’re really pleased.”

Exhibitor Gary Hughes, of Extra FX Fireworks, was also happy with the event’s success.

He said: “We were impressed with the Elms. I have a good feeling that we will be booking at least six venues with I Will next season.”

The Elms event concludes the spring season of I Will shows in the region, but the autumn season isn’t too far away – the first two shows will both take place on Sunday, September 9, at Wharton Park Golf Club, Bewdley, and The Lygon Arms, Broadway.

The I Will wedding shows – run by the people behind local newspapers such as The Shuttle, Bromsgrove Advertiser, Redditch Advertiser, Stourbridge News, Halesowen News and Dudley News – bring together an array of services under one roof.

This means couples and their families and friends can spend a day collecting ideas and contacts to help create the perfect wedding.
