A MOTORCYCLIST ended up stuck in a hedge for 40 minutes while medics carefully worked around the injured man.
The 34-year-old rider was involved in what medics described as “an unfortunate incident”, after his bike went into a hedge off the A422 between the turn for the A44 and Broughton Hackett, near Worcester, at about 8pm yesterday.
An ambulance and a paramedic arrived to find the man - who had been among a groups of riders - in the hedge.
Because of the potential injuries suspected, medics then had to painstakingly work a spinal board around the man - assisted by the other riders.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “The man was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board.
“He had a potential fracture dislocation to his left shoulder and rib injuries.
“He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
“What was fortunate for the man was that he was wearing a full range of safety equipment such as leathers and the like.
“This undoubtedly helped reduce the level of injury that he had suffered.
“We would urge all motorcyclists to invest in similar levels of equipment as they could save your life.”
