A WORCESTERSHIRE author who went from rags to riches to pursue his dream of writing has headed home to promote his new novel.

David Edwards, aka Jack George Edmunson, lived in Ashton-under-Hill and Elmley Castle for many years and worked as a logistic specialist for Kays Mail Order in Worcester.

But he gave it all up to become a full-time writer, losing his homes in Cheshire and Catalonia, Spain, and custody of his eight-year-old son into the process.

On the verge of bankruptcy, his first published novel, The Sun Sharer, under his pseudonym, soared into the romance charts, reaching number one.

Now published under his own name, Mr Edward’s latest novel, The Ebb & Flow, is an historical fiction set in Georgian North Wales.

Mr Edwards was promoting The Ebb & Flow at Waterstones in Worcester yesterday, and will be in Cheltenham today.
