THE midas touch continues for Cher Lloyd after sales of her new perfume exceeded all expectations.

Not content with taking the music industry by storm, sales of the 19-year-old’s Pink Diamond fragrance are 500 per cent above target.

The scent is proving particularly popular near her Malvern home with sales being strongest in Worcester, Gloucester and Cheltenham.

A spokesman for the Fragrance Shop said: “It’s one of our biggest celebrity launches to date. We have had to order in extra stocks today, as we were about to sell out.

“It has exceeded our expectations by more than 500 per cent.”

Her ever-increasing high profile has also gained her celebrity fans, with singer and TV presenter Myleene Klass taking to Twitter to show her support to her 300,000 followers.

She wrote: “Wonder if all those who were quick enough to knock @CherLloyd are now queuing to buy her perfume. #hopeso #Girldonegood.”

The fragrance, which comes in a bright pink diamond-shaped bottle, is described as having a sweet, fruity and floral scent, mixing top notes of golden quince, cassis and exotic kiwi mixed with middle notes of white chocolate, jasmine petals, orchid and orris roots.

As your Worcester News reported yesterday, it has been quite a busy few days for the former X-Factor finalist, who performed live on the stage of the Today show in New York on Thursday and is preparing for her debut album Sticks and Stones to be released in the USA on October 2.
