FIRST the rain flooded roads, felled trees and caused traffic chaos – now it’s helped create this unsightly mess in Worcester.

A huge pile of debris has built up underneath Worcester bridge similar to the monster-style muck which was found on the same spot in July.

Snapped tree branches, bits of wood and plenty of mud and slime has built up downstream following the miserable weather.

The canal and river trust, which has responsibility for the country’s waterways, will have the messy job of taking it all away.

If the weekend forecast is anything to go by, the workers can expect some respite while the muck is dealt with.

Today, the county will see highs of 14C (57F), with the Met Office saying it will be mainly sunny.

Tomorrow’s forecast is for highs of 15C (59F), but with rainy spells coming in from the afternoon, interspersed with cloud.
