A PICTURE for Health is the title of an exhibition of children’s art which has opened at the new Barbourne Health Centre in Worcester.

Primary schools from around the area responded to a competition which requested paintings, drawings and collages on the theme A Picture for Health to help launch a charity of the same name.

The charity, set up earlier this year, has joint aims of arts promotion and improved wellbeing in the healthcare environment.

At the launch, Dr Maggie Keeble, the founder of the charity, congratulated the winners of the competition and thanked all the schools that had taken part in the exhibition. More than 270 pictures now adorn the new surgery and residents, patients and the children were able to view all the works on display at an open day at the surgery in Droitwich Road.

Schools taking part included Gorse Hill Primary School, the Grange Royal Grammar School, St George’s Catholic Primary School, St George’s CE Primary School and Northwick Primary School.
