A WOMAN has thanked generous Worcester News readers who had helped to make her dream come true.
Readers helped Beth Lawrence, of Barbourne, Worcester, raise more than £1,274 so she could travel to South Africa to help neglected and abused horses.
Readers Francis Davies and Paul Gillett, of Worcester Funeral Service, gave the majority of the money after reading Miss Lawrence’s appeal for help to raise money for flights.
People also donated in three collection tins placed in Equestrian and Country Leisure, Top Barn Business Centre in Holt Heath, Worcester, Country Cuisine in Worcester and MacArthur Barstow and Gibbs Veterinary Surgeons, in Droitwich.
The 22-year-old flew out on Wednesday to begin her placement as part of the Personal Overseas Development (PoD) programme.
Miss Lawrence said: “I am so grateful to everyone who donated especially the generosity of Francis and Paul. It was amazing how much interest the article has raised.
