HUMAN remains are may have been discovered near a river in Droitwich say police.
Police were called at around 9pm yesterday to reports that possible human remains had been found near the River Salwarpe in Droitwich.
How we first reported the story
We reported earlier today how two police vehicles were parked on the bridge by the side of the road which overlooks the river (Ombersley Way) and a cordon was running along both banks. Two police officers were there to maintain the cordon with long stretches of tape on both banks.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: “Most of the bones have been identified as animal except for one which is believed to be human and generations old. However further tests are being carried out and a cordon has been put in place whilst this takes place.
“We would like to reassure residents the human bone is not believed to be linked to any ongoing investigations but enquiries are ongoing to determine the nature of findings.”
