A BOOZE thief from Bromsgrove has been fined more than £300 after being caught swiping spirits from a supermarket in the town.
Stuart Burford, 46, of Wood Lane, Fairfield, must pay £339.30 after pleading guilty to three charges of theft from Waitrose at Kidderminster Magistrates Court.
He stole a bottle of Smirnoff vodka, to the value of £16.50, from the St John Street store on February 19, 2020.
Burford also took a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey and a bottle of Bell's whiskey, with a total value of £42.50, from the supermarket on February 29, 2020.
That same day, he was also charged with stealing two bottles of Waitrose brandy, with a combined value of £33.30.
Burford, who appeared via live link with coronavirus restrictions still in place in some courts, admitted all three charges.
He was fined £80 and ordered to pay back the value of all five of the bottles that he stole, which amounted to £92.30.
In addition, he was told he must pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £135 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
