SOLICITORS Thomas Horton has appointed one of its trainees to a permanent solicitor position in its business services department.

Harjinder Bains graduated with distinction from the College of Law and has been working at the firm’s head office in Bromsgrove since 2011. He has spent the majority of his traineeship working in the busy and diverse environment of the business services team.

Mr Bains said: “It is a really tough employment market for young lawyers at the moment. Many of my friends with good law degrees are struggling to find positions. I am absolutely thrilled to have completed my training and to become a permanent solicitor at such a dynamic firm.”

Jeff Taylor, head of the business services department, said: “Harjinder was chosen for his traineeship from a very strong field of candidates and has been an asset to our team from day one.

“He has added value in each department he has worked in but we were certain that his expertise lies in business services and we are pleased that he has accepted this position with us. “He has not only embraced our training within the firm, but has also made his mark within the region’s legal arena by becoming treasurer of the Worcester Junior Lawyers Division and a member of the Midlands Asian Lawyers Association.”

Since 2011, Thomas Horton has taken on two further law graduates as junior lawyers in its busy business services and conveyancing departments, and hopes that both will follow in Bains footsteps.
