MORE than 200 cyclists will be swinging their legs over the saddle on Sunday, July 13, to take part in the first Worcester Classic Bike Ride.

The event starts at Worcester Warriors Sixways ground at Warndon and has three different and challenging routes, 55 miles, 85 miles and 100 miles covering the beautiful Worcester country side. The trides are designed for all cycling enthusiasts, sportsmen and women who want to take on a challenge and at the same time raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Worcester law firm QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright has registered a team of six riders, who between them will be attempting all three of the routes. Cyril Arridge, managing partner, said: "We are delighted to sponsor the first Worcester Classic Bike Ride and help it raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice."

There will be activities for all the family at Sixways from 12 noon on the day, including live music, food and drink and local stalls.

The ride is being organised by Adam Clayton of Zeus Events. On-line registration closes at 5pm on Friday; however, registration will be accepted on the day at the start line. To register visit http://www.worcesterclassicbikeride.com
