THERE'S a chance for an out of the ordinary job this summer as West Midlands Safari Park has launched a search to fill 200 seasonal vacancies.

Almost 50 of them are with the Theme Park department, which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the park’s Adventure Theme Park. There are also two permanent administrator roles available, within the HR and commercial teams and the jobs on offer span a variety of departments, including food and beverages, retail and admissions, games, park services and entertainments.

Theme Park manager, Marcus Hyde-Fynn said: "If you’re looking to join a department with incredible team spirit, with staff members who work well together and make lifelong friendships and where every day is different, then come and join our team in the Theme Park as a Theme Park operator. Seeing all those children’s smiles, means you can enjoy your job and in doing so, progress as a person. It is a very rewarding role.”

The venue has also decided to implement the government’s new national living wage from January 2016, rather than April. This means that employees over the age of 25 will see an increased rate of pay earlier than expected. Also new for 2016, is the chance to take part in a free employability workshop, for eligible individuals. The park has joined forces with Birmingham Metropolitan

College and Job Centre Plus, to provide this service, to help more people into employment. The summer season at West Midlands Safari Park starts on Saturday, February 13 and runs until Friday, November 4.
