A NEW healthy eating business venture has been launched in Worcestershire.

Julie Slade, who recently further graduated from Worcester University, has launched Meals to Heal which offers advice how to cook nutritious food to keep people’s minds, bodies and spirits in top shape.

The former English teacher, whose post graduate was in diet, nutrition and health, said every course is tailor-made to suit each individual’s needs whether that is" to derive more energy and vitality from the food we eat, or losing weight by cooking healthier food for themselves and their families".

Her interest in nutrition began when a very close member of her family received a devastating blow that she had cancer and her survival rate was very grim, but two years later turned her life around by keeping a keen eye on nutrition and healthy eating.

The entrepreneur said: “This person’s bravery spurred me on to find out how nutrition plays a part in healing us.

"Of course, it is not just nutrition, and that’s why I take a holistic approach with each client. Their relationship with the food they eat is very important and some people sometimes have an emotional attachment to food that only becomes apparent when they become aware of it through talking.

"In addition to this, perhaps they have underlying food sensitivities or intolerances that are hindering their well-being, or their health might be compromised because important nutrients, minerals or vitamins are missing from their diet. If the client is not confident about cooking, I will help them produce simple, nutritious meals that cost little.

"I’ve even been shopping with some people to help them read confusing food labels and ingredient lists.

"I've already helped people who were pre-diabetic to maintain a healthier weight and life style"
