TWO representatives from Worcester Bosch attended a special event celebrating the RAF's centenary year, recently held at the House of Commons.

Jon Buckle and Neil Schofield attended the RAF Reserves Day reception.

Mr Buckle, who is part of the research and development team at Worcester Bosch, has been an RAF Reservist for the past 20 years, and was invited to the prestigious event to thank him for his work.

Mr Buckle said: “It is fantastic that Worcester Bosch has been able to support me in my role in the RAF Reserves, which is something I feel particularly passionate about. The fact that the company holds the Silver Award is testament to the commitment it has made to assisting the Armed Forces community.

“I am also delighted that Neil was able to join me.”

Mr Schofield, head of external affairs at Worcester Bosch, has been involved in ensuring the company provides the right support to allow him to carry out both his research and reserve roles.

Acknowledging the backing that has been given to Jon over the past years, the company holds the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award in light of its commitment and flexible work ethics. The company is now working towards gaining a Gold Award for its forces employee policy.

Mr Schofield added: “Jon’s dedication to both his role in the RAF Reserves and also at Worcester Bosch, are second to none, so we are delighted to be able to offer the support needed. The visit to the House of Commons reiterated just how important the Reserves are to the Armed Forces community and it was a privilege to be able to play a part in this.

“The company is proud to hold the Silver Award, and we hope our continued work in this area will move us towards gaining a Gold Award in the future.”
