THE team at Food at Webbs of Wychbold has teamed with a top cider-maker to produce a new cider which celebrates the Midlands’ rich apple heritage.

Food at Webbs of Wychbold has worked with Tom Oliver of Oliver’s Cider and Perry to develop Eureka - a crafted blend of traditional Herefordshire cider apples and classic juicy eaters.

Its unique flavour was achieved by fermenting bittersweet cider apples using wild yeasts that naturally occur at Mr Oliver's cider house in Ocle Pychard.

The dessert apples were selected to give the golden, lightly sparkling cider an orchard-fresh aroma.

Ed Webb, owner of Webbs, said: “We love championing the best food and drink and are committed to building relationships with artisan producers like Tom Oliver, one of the country’s leading cider-makers.

"Cider is such an iconic English drink and Eureka will appeal to both cider-lovers and people who are new to the drink. It’s great served slightly chilled or over ice.”

Tom added: "My philosophy is to take what the fruit gives, paying respect to our great cider-making heritage."

The cider is available from the food hall or online at webbsdirect.co.uk/eureka-cider.
