WORCESTERHIRE-based contractor Thomas Vale has announced its most successful year trading in its 142-year history.

The firm, which has headquarters in Stourport, achie-ved record turnover results of more than £250 million in 2010/2011.

The construction group has no borrowings and more than £21 million in the bank at the year end, as well as a strong forward workload of some £550 million, all of which underpins future volumes of new projects with public and private sector clients across the Midlands.

Tony Hyde, group managing director, said: “Our clear and consistent delivery to our clients has allowed the company to grow organically over the past 12 months. “We have undertaken some of the region’s most extraordinary projects, raising the standards and innovation in cost, delivery and sustainability for end users.”

Chairman Mike Wallis said: “We continue to focus on cash management, pushing for efficiencies in our business and the supply chains to ensure our competitive edge is maintained and that our clients continue to get added value for money and cashable and non-cashable benefits are brought to the wider communities in which we work.”

The company has been awarded some of the most prestigious and sought after contracts in the UK including the West Midlands Contractors Framework in partnership with Worcestershire County Council to deliver the capital works programme in the region.

Other notable projects include the RICS Project of the Year 2011.
