A FIRM which builds hospitals and medical centres has bought part of an £8m city office site for its new headquarters.

Worcestershire property developer Maximus sold half of its speculative city office scheme, near County Hall, to Prime Plc.

Prime specialises in building health, social and community care facilities across the UK.

The firm paid more than £200 per sq ft for the 20,000 sq ft building, which is part of the new development off Wildwood Way.

Work on the 40,000 sq ft Wildwood Triangle scheme has already started and the project should be finished by June 2007.

The scheme is made up of five detached buildings, with units from 2,000 sq ft to 8,000 sq ft, available to let at rents of about £16.50 per sq ft.

Wildwood Triangle is being built next to the 60,000 sq ft offices Maximus pre-let to Worcestershire County Council two years ago.

Paul Jones, managing director of Grimley-based Maximus, said: "We are delighted that Prime has selected Wildwood Triangle as the location for its new headquarters.

"We believe the firm's commitment is a massive endorsement of the scheme, which is already attracting significant interest for the remaining units."

Prime's managing director Leighton Chumbley said: "We are extremely excited about our move to Wildwood Triangle.

"Having completed a detailed option study of potential locations across Worcester, we decided that the excellent location, design and specification of Wildwood Tri angle was ideally suited to the needs of our business."
