A RARE bird is still being spotted at Worcester Cathedral, according to the online "Worcester Birding" site.

The black redstart got local twitchers talking several weeks ago, with one sighting logged logged on Tuesday, January 13, near the stonemasons' yard.

The latest sighting took place on Tuesday, January 27, on the eastern elevation of the building.

However, local bird-watchers have reported the bird to be be "elusive".

Most black redstarts will be passing through, during colder months, as there may be as few as twenty to fifty pairs actually breeding in the UK.
