MORE than 30 workers at Muller Milk in Droitwich are self isolating after an outbreak of coronavirus at the factory.

35 employees are currently isolating after 14 workers tested positive for Covid-19.

A spokesman for Müller Milk and Ingredients said:

“The health and safety of all our employees is our first priority.

“Our approach to the Covid-19 pandemic has always followed best practice as set down by the Health and Safety Executive, with standard measures in place including the use of facemasks, distancing, enhanced daily deep cleaning and hygiene.

“We have also introduced mandatory temperature testing for all employees at the site entrance, hired designated Covid-19 coaches to help ensure full compliance with strict protocols and we are redoubling our advice to help ensure that transmission is minimised in the community and through travel.

“This is underpinned by a programme of e-learning, information and audits to ensure compliance and awareness of the measures.

"35 employees who work at our Droitwich dairy are currently self-isolating and it is important to stress that fresh milk processing is highly automated ensuring no risk to products."

Meanwhile, it was also confirmed earlier this week that workers at JVM Castings in Worcester are self-isolating after a small number of staff members tested positive for Covid-19.

A spokeswoman for the die-casting manufacturer, is based on Droitwich Road, said:"The safety of our colleagues, customers and suppliers remains our number one priority and we are following all government guidance closely.

"We have extensive measures across our premises to help keep everyone safe, including social distancing signage and regular cleaning."
