RESIDENTS in Worcestershire are being invited to have their say on how some mental health services in the county are organised and run.
Primary care mental health services in the county – those patients receive when they first feel low or anxious such as advice on wellbeing or talking therapy – are being redesigned in order to offer the best possible support.
It is hoped the revamped system will offer a greater range of more consistent services as well as improved links between organisations.
Chairman of NHS South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group Dr Anthony Kelly said it was important as many people in the county as possible had a say on the plans.
“The redesign of the Primary Mental Health Service will provide improved access to services in the community,” he said.
“We recognise that access to services is not just about mental health services but a wealth of organisations working together to offer help in managing social issues that affect people’s wellbeing.”
Opportunities to find out more include a public meeting at Sytchampton Community Centre near Droitwich from 5.30pm on Monday, May 18. Anyone interested in attending should email CCGComms@worcestershire.nhs.uk
