SIR – I was disappointed to read the report by Tom Edwards report (Worcester News, January 24) about Worcester city cleaner and greener department’s plans to replace summer and winter floral bedding in parks with more sustainable plants.
Hitherto, the flowers have always been a pleasure to see, but I have my doubts that sustainable plants will bloom for so long overall.
Once again due to cost cutting, standards will fall, but I sincerely hope the time is not imminent when our parks will be filled with imitation floral displays.
