SIR – I can’t believe how much of an immoral person I have been.
After reading the letters from Neil Humphries (Worcester News, February 7) and Ewan Gear (Worcester News, February 7) I now realise that I once made a terrible mistake.
It seems that marriage is the condition of a man and woman legally united for the purpose of procreating lawful offspring. My problem is that I was once married knowing that neither me nor my partner ever wanted children. I feel so ashamed.
No doubt many people have made this same mistake.
There must be millions of couples who married knowing full well that they were either unable or too old to conceive.
I now feel I should inform these people about what they have inadvertently done.
The problem is that there are so many. Perhaps Mr Humphries and Mr Gear can help me write the letters?
