SIR – I see one of the energy companies wants to get rid of the standing charge but won’t make a move until the other five energy companies do the same.
Doesn’t this prove that the energy companies are running a cartel?
The same goes for the water companies.
Why should they be allowed to have this standing charge and why doesn’t Ofgem step in and sort this out.
They’ve been sitting on their hands long enough.
So come on, Ofgem, let’s have some action and get rid of these standing charges.
