SIR – I was interested to read the story about the difficulty visitors to Worcester might find in locating the brilliant new library (Worcester News, July 1).

It is really easy to spot if you arrive by train as it gleams a welcome to you.

I give literacy and numeracy support to clients at St Paul’s Hostel and we have a creative group who paid a visit to the Hive shortly after it was opened by the Queen and we jointly created a poem to mark the occasion which Iforward to you now.

It was the first time that clients had joined a library and they were very impressed by the facilities.

Come to the Hive!
Worcester’s wonderful new library
A hive of activity
And keeper of knowledge.

Outstanding in gleaming gold
Standing proud
By the river and railway bridge.

Meet students and citizens about their business
Busy as bees... buzzing
Around the Worcestershire hub
A one-stop shop for council enquiries
Or busy in building foundations for future success.

Acquaint yourselves with the history of the Butts
The birthplace of the Hive with its gravel pits...
Council lorry depot and cattle markets.

Research your family background, look into the archives
Enter a world of discovery to brighten your lives.

In a welcoming, eco-friendly, light and modern space
Here is our complex world at the interface.

Open every day from early till late A place that`s great....
To refresh mind, body and soul
With its cafe and spectacular areas inside and out
What better way to spend one day whole!

So join and register now for free
It`s designed to be used by you and me
With your library card you can have access
To hundreds of computers and thousands of books.

So come all ye children, come all ye citizens
And join with Worcester`s university students
Come take a look!
And make the most of your new heritage...

Take pride in your past!
Build for the future!
All together at last.
