SIR – There are many loyal Worcester News readers like myself in our faithful city, who find in ‘our’ paper exactly what we need to keep in touch with all things local – good and bad.

But, dare I say it, we are not daft. The new-look revolutionary Worcester News is in effect the old paper with an insert, which can be produced en bloc to suit, and isn’t really topical in a daily basis way.

I think most people will struggle to notice any real substantial difference with the main paper except in one area – the price.

A 47 per cent increase in cost should equate to a similar percentage improvement in look and content.

Calling something new and hugely improved because of a specialised insert isn’t that – sorry.

A 47 per cent price increase.

Without wishing to sound mean, let’s be honest about it – that’s the real news story.
