SIR – Letter writer Peter Nielson seems to think I contradict myself (Worcester News, August 14) but these are my opinions.

I do believe in unions but object to unions who haven’t got a good case and use the general public to bully their way into getting what they want. That’s totally wrong.

I do moan about the utilities. Since they were privatised prices have gone up and up. Don’t forget the utilities were paid for and belonged to the public who were never paid compensation when they were privatised.

Earlier this month we learned that the cost of rail travel was going to go up yet again. That was another asset taken from the public and again the money is going into the pockets of the greedy.

Yes, I also moan about housing. The rents are too high and once people start to rent they’re never able to get a deposit together to be able to buy. Rents should drastically be reduced.

As for the health service, that’s one organisation I do praise. They’ve done such a good job. That’s why people are living longer.

The NHS seems to be in a little difficulty right now but that’s because the Government has tried to reorganise once again.

It usually messes things up or it costs the health service a lot of money, but on the whole the people in the health service do a great job.

What we have to watch is the Government stripping off bits of the health service and putting them in the hands of the greedy.
