SIR – David Cameron was trying follow in the footsteps of Tony Blair by planning a military attack on a country – this time Syria – on the basis of an intelligence dossier.

We know now that Mr Blair’s Iraq intelligence dossier was greatly exaggerated to make the case for war. Do we believe Mr Cameron is any better?

Syria has never attacked or threatened us whereas the Al Qaeda rebels who are trying to overthrow the Syrian government have killed and maimed countless British military personnel.

Only one party – UKIP – deserves your support since it has resolutely refused to support involvement in Syria from the start.
