SIR – Mary Howitt wrote, “Will you walk into my parlour?” said a spider to a fly: “Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy.”
I am not usually attracted by the wild flowers and uncut grass areas of Gheluvelt Park, but walking through on a glorious sunny morning I was amazed to see scores of cobwebs among the greenery.
Summer may be over, but autumn has its compensations.
