SIR - I would like to know why when we live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Upper Welland developers like Kier Group plan to put 90+ houses on this site.
We live just below the Malvern Hills. Joining this field is an ancient woodland with an order on it not to be touched. There would be only 15m from these houses to the woodland. I'm sure it would be a magnet to children today as it was for me as a child being born and growing up in Upper Welland. Next to this woodland is only one large field before your reach top road then you are on the Malvern Hills.
The schools are already overcrowded. One boy near me has to go to Hanley Primary in a taxi because he can't get into either the Wells or Welland school.
The road is already dangerous with traffic up and down. Cars parked both sides of the road and if another roadway comes out of this estate with at least 100 cars or more anything could happen.
We have no shop, pub or village hall. The bus service is rubbish.
The residents in Watery Lane will neither see the woodland or the hills so no consideration there.
We do not want or need this new development next to our village in our AONB.
