SIR - After reading the stupid controversy over taxi drivers in Worcester making short journeys really makes me mad.
i was a taxi driver for 32 years four months before I was forced to retire late 1995. The Council rules are these taxis are there to serve the public.
It might be 100 miles or half a mile, these cabs are out for tender.
My shortest journey was Broad Street to the Shire Hall County Court, four mornings a week transporting a QC.
For a taxi driver to say no to the elderly and disabled is downright disgusting.
My longest journey was Worcester to Southampton. I took it in my stride as these cab drivers today want something for nothing.
Sorry but it don't work like that.
