Sir - What an incredible story of the long-lost bible!
Sorry about this: here's a piece of Thompson pedantry! In line 7 of the piece (Your Weekend p22), you have written "may" instead of "might".
It could be either "they feared they might never see him again" or "they fear they may never see him again".
It's a matter of the sequence of tenses. "They feared they may never see him again" just doesn't work.
I do apologise!
