Sir - An intriguing photo was shared with Hallow History Group recently. It was taken outside the Crown Inn in Hallow whilst Henry Lock was licensee (1887 - 1934).
We surmise from the clothing that it dates from early in the 20th Century before the Great War. The Inn hosted meetings of the National Conservative League that were attended by the young Stanley Baldwin and his father.
The Ancient Order of Foresters also held events at the Crown, the sashes and badges worn by many in the photo match those worn by dignitaries of the Foresters in the 1910s.
Can any Worcester News readers help us date the photo more accurately, identify the event and any of those posing for the picture?
