SIR - The grimy Queen Victoria statue still needs cleaning.
Following my comments on your letters page in April 2006 and your newspaper article of July 2006, surely by now the statue could have been washed down.
Was the exercise ever costed, and if so, how much? Would it impose such a burden on the limited resources? A hosepipe and a brush cannot cost the earth!
