SIR - I write regarding the proposal for the re-configuration of ambulance call centres in this region.
The ambulance trust's argument that a technical revamp is needed has been eloquently presented by its chief executive but it ignores the needs of Worcestershire. While I buy the re-configuration proposal from a technical point of view - the ambulance trust was pushed to the limit during the recent floods and performed heroically - I cannot accept that Bransford should not be one of the centres for development.
To locate both call centres in the north of the region demonstrates a bias against our county.
Also, in the event of a terrorist incident or natural disaster, having the call centres in Stafford and Brierley Hill appears strategically inept.
Surely it would be wiser to have a call centre here in the south?
PAUL RENCHER, Evesham.
