SIR - Is there really a point to our very existence? George Cowley may correct me otherwise.

It seems too costly to live in (somewhat naive) harmony/peace and now to die with some dignity or respect.

If you live, you're in debt to a society that really doesn't give two hoots about you unless you're rich and healthy, and if you die it now seems you're in debt to a society that really isn't that sorry to see you go - just as long as you pay your way, mind your own business and don't pollute when you're gone. Mind how you go.
