SIR - My sympathies lie with Audrey Everton in respect of the closing down of the day centres at Perryfields and Pershore, referred to in the Worcester News.

The members of the county council who voted for the closure of these two centres should hold their heads in deep shame, after knowing that they have spent enormous sums of the taxpayers' money on the refurbishment of the county council chamber, yet they cannot seem to find the money to keep these two centres open.

My solution therefore is for the guilty councillors who voted for the closures to look after people such as David Everton in their own homes for a week and then perhaps they would understand the great difficulties being placed on disabled people and their carers who cannot speak up for themselves with the closure of these two centres.
