SIR – I heard recently that a woman went to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for a scan and was asked to sign a form giving her permission for the scan to be read abroad.
Was someone pulling her leg?
If not, are there no qualified medics in this country who are capable of interpreting a scan and if the work goes abroad who pays for it? Can anyone enlighten me?
