SIR – With council leader Simon Geraghty constantly reminding us how cash-strapped Worcester City Council is, it would be nothing less than a shameful waste of public money should any go towards saving that dilapidated building on the old Cinderella ground.

With regards to sports facilities, Worcester, and particularly St John’s, are well provided for. And those people, including city councillors, who have led the protest, possibly resulting in a £70,000 legal bill for Worcester city tax payers should be required to pay up, or personally guarantee a business case for a non–council-funded future for their nostalgic venture.

BRIAN HUNT,

Worcester.
