SIR – Our sportsmen and women now hold their own with the whole world.
The Olympics are a shining example. Rebecca Aldington in the 800m and 400m freestyle is a worthy gold medalist, and of course Zac Purchase, ex-King’s School and his partner Mark Hunter in the light weight double skulls.
I did not expect the Chinese to be so good at organising.
All our sportsmen and women have given all their best. Dare we hope that our Olympics will be so good or better?
