SIR – Well I did warn you. Be suspicious of petitions as they are likely to be counted as one item. They certainly held no sway with the recent post office closures.
Most people thought the consultation was a sham anyway. The post offices were being guided by the Government and you know what that means.
They have never given us a referandum on the EU because they are too frightened of the result.
