SIR – Re Banjolegs web posting (June 17).
In describing dive-bombing seagulls in Hylton Road, I found an odd juxtaposition between the phrases ‘protective parents’ and ‘vile creatures’. In the light of the Baby P case and other vile incidents of child abuse, I would say we have lessons to learn from these seagulls. They are doing something that comes naturally to them, protecting their young. Sadly, this basic instinct is lacking among some members of our human race.
