Sir – Gordon Brown, when appearing on the Andrew Marr show, on September 27, 9am BBC1, said that to address the economic problems of the UK there was to be a huge sale of assets.
Well, forgive my memory but as he has sold off most of our assets already including our gold and losing many millions, what is there left to sell?
Perhaps Buckingham Palace, or all the guildhalls throughout the country, any schools/playing fields remaining that haven’t gone to PFI, the rest of our hospitals, how about our roads?
Or what is left of the Royal Mail and post offices?
Perhaps the banks now that he has pumped billions of public money into them, which seems to have helped the bankers more than the general public as promised.
Then, finally, is he going to sell us the people of England perhaps to Europe, or even to his beloved Scotland?
Brian Hunt,
Worcester.
