SIR – Worcester News, September 22, reported that hero Peter Burkill, a pilot for 20 years has been unable to obtain another post as a pilot, after having saved the lives of 151 passengers plus crew. He says his experience of safely bringing down the stricken Boeing 777 airliner has counted against him in a hunt for a job!
If he had allowed the plane to crash perhaps killing many on aboard, would he have been offered another pilot’s job?
