SIR – Former pupils of Castlemorton School held their annual “get together” at the Parish Hall on Saturday September 19.
It was a very successful friendly meeting, with some welcome new faces. Some of us were meeting for the first time in many years.
The “get together” was first started in memory of Fred Windle, headmaster of the school from 1934-1958.
His son Lawrence kindly sent us a cheque in appreciation of our efforts, which helped to cover the cost of the hall.
Mrs Adsett, the present headteacher of the new (to us) school came along and gave us a wonderful presentation into the life of a Gambian school.
She has been promoting the twinning between schools for some time and we have been giving her donations towards it.
The presentation was to give us an insight into where the money was being spent. We were most impressed and were able to give her another generous donation collected at the meeting.
ROBIN PHILLIPS,
Evesham.
