SIR – If Mr Staite read my letter correctly he would read that the morons referred to were the ones who fish in the Offerton Nature Reserve and do not understanding the terminology “reserved for nature”. My remarks definitely did not refer to people who legally fish in the canal and river.
As to why the matter has not been dealt with sooner rather than later, I suggest Mr Staite puts this question to the authorities such as the wildlife ranger.
You will never see the same quantity of wildlife on the canal as you will see on the waters of the nature reserve when nature is left in peace from the morons who illegally fish there.
