SIR – I must thank Brian Hunt for his warm and generous references to myself (Letters, September 23).
Yes, I endeavour to be a gentleman in the truest sense of that term, and I do hope that my carbon footprint is excellent as Brian suggests.
For my part I have the greatest admiration for Brian and also Ron Chambers. They are both wonderful stalwarts of our local pensioners’ federation and are great fighters for justice.
Another marvellous person is Yvonne Hossack, solicitor-advocate. She is prepared to make herself very unpopular with the mighty by fighting for the weak and oppressed.
