SIR – We have been reminded of what we suffered in 2007 by the devastating floods in Cumbria.

During our troubles the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Fire And Rescue Service, under chief officer Paul Hayden, pioneered the National Supply Team (NST) and, ably assisted by Paul Amos of the Chief Fire Officers’ Association, helped to direct operations in Cumbria.

Mary Dhonau, of the National Flood Forum, apparently is not satisfied with the current Water and Flood Management Bill, though no doubt she will persist with her fight.

Isn’t it time the Government accepted there is a climate change now?

Worcester News weather expert Paul Damari has been warning us ever since I’ve known him.

PHIL PEGLER,
Worcester.
