SIR – I read “Learn by mistakes and don’t lose that licence,” (November 27) with outrage.
It was politically correct codswallop! That somebody gets the book thrown at them for the heinous crime of doing 35mph in a 30 zone typifies the Labour dictatorship we all now live under. Why can’t such motorists be treated the same way burglars are and be given a police caution? The speed camera partnership claims that it doesn’t keep statistics of the speed cars do through speed cameras. You can bet your bottom dollar it doesn’t! Such data would destroy the myth of the “speeding motorist” and show that most caught by speed cameras are marginally over the limit. That would destroy Labour’s mega million money-making “speeding” goldmine!
